Default BMR K member not meeting up with motor mounts????

So I have a brand new BMR kmember that is being a pain in the ***. I spent 3.5 hrs trying to get the 2 motor mount bolts installed. No luck, I'm so pissed off right now that it's not even funny. I have the motor out of the car and cannot get the bolts in. I mean **** I'm doing it outside of the car so I cant imagine it in the car. It seems to be a 1/2" off when looking into the mount points. I've tried taking off the plate and pedastal of each side of the motor and i've tried working a screw driver in the hole and the SOB just goes right back to its position at all expense. I cant figure out why the bitch isnt linen up! Any thoughts about now would be good because I dont know what the hell to do and of course BMR is closed and doesn't have a hotline for help or instruction. This all started at 6:30 central time. Damn I'm still heated.

I know it doesn't help you, but this is why the BMR has been getting some bad raps lately. They are a site sponsor, so maybe PM them and see if they can help you out.

Or if you have the capability with a welder....

Or just return it and get a UMI.

All the motor mount bolts that attach to the block? I had the driver side completely loose and hell even tried taking 2 bolts out lol, then there was no way to have gotten them back in lol. I'm gonna snap some pics and send them to BMR and see what they can come up with. I'll mess with it when i get off tonight. Sucks cause I'm moving to florida on the 28th and I thought the rest of this was going to be cake. Kind of lost for words at this point.

post up a pic of what you are looking at. I have a original BMR kmember, circa 2003, you only use the clam on the drivers side. Are you trying to use something else?

I have the old school black one. It is BRAND NEW though. Just havent got around to using it..... I have the clam shell on the driver side and just the pedestal type peice on the passenger side that mounts to the welded in motor mount on the k member. It looks just like their black hammertone ones they have listed now. They are identical.

Good talking to you on the phone....

Like I mentioned on the phone the unit you have is very old 5+ years plus so even though it is new I could of had a production issue back then that is now causing you these issues.

I should know something very soon on getting you a replacement unit

Cool thanks lee. I'm sure it can be hashed out somehow! Like I said I have supported BMR on all levels considering every suspension mod I have on the car is BMR. Nothing left to change out! Like I said I'm moving to Florida May 28th which is the scary part cause I'm running out of time! I needed the motor in this weekend honestly. Didnt think I'd run into an issue such as this!

That's awesome they helped you out! I had bought a k member from them last summer and the drivers side where it uses the rubber mount on the motor the perches on the k member had about .500 worth of slop between it and the factory rubber mount. Called them up and they didn't really seem like they wanted to help so now im just getting around to having it ready to put the motor in and i had to make spacers for each side. Kinda bullshit if ya ask me, seeing as how it was a brand new unit as well...

Lee took care of me too, didn't have to pay shipping for any of it. Here is the thread.
