Default LS1 lid swap Qs?

I知 trying to do the lid swap on my car right now, it looks like I知 going to have to cut a Big portion of the hood. I want to know if the hood would hold up?

The lid will have to be sticking out of the hood to fit. I have a cowl hood and it slightly rubs on it.

Only way it will work like you have it installed is with a trans am with the ws6 hood; like mine, but being that you have a camaro you will need a aftermarket cowl hood to fit a lid installed like that.

For the mod to perform and function properly you must install a motor , furthermore you'll need to do the radiator support cutting to fit under that hood , don't hack that hood up and render it worthless...

I agree, if you want to hack up a hood, go buy a non SS hood and do this

I'm working on that yea i just liked the clean look of this, if i did cut the core support the hood woudnt need any cutting. Just need to find a better way of putting the lid on, not sheet metal screws

Will a LS1 lid fit under a non-ws6 firebird hood?

It fits under the z28 hood so I would think so you just have to cut the core support

It takes ALOT of cutting. I did it and i have to cut the core support, the base for the lid, and cut a big chunk of bracing off the hood.
