Default 450$ 97 Trans Am

I picked up a rolling 97 TA with clean title today it still has t-56 but no motor, pcm or wiring harness. It also has some suspension work and supposedly 410 in rear. My main question is what motor to go back in.
1. Lt1 355/383
2. 6.0 ls

I know the Lsx will prob be more money and work. Thanks Joe

Ok sorry I didn't give enough info. Its goin to be a toy more strip/street but I want to stay t56. I don't want a 25 k all out build but i am willing to spent 8-10k to have a good running car.

With that budget I would build a nice 355 with a H/C package from AI or LE. "Advanced Induction" or "Loyd Elliot". Should have enough $$ left over for suspension, clutch etc. This is assuming you and your buddies are doing most of the wrenching.

Forged Professionally built 355, 383 or 396 a badd *** clutch some trans work and a new rearend because the stock ones are made of glass especially with 4.10's M6 and power.

Saw this today browsing craigslist, http://southjersey.craigslist.org/pts/2744097358.html

There are some great deals out there. I would definitely find a motor that someone built and then never used. Save alot of $$$.

Good luck!

If you want a solid daily driver. I say get the 6.0 or at least some sort of LS motor. It will be worth the extra work in the long run.

If you go LS I'll be glad to take the T-56 off your hands.
If you go the LT way I have one for sale!
