Wouldn't be concerned with HP limits, but rather the peak RPM the opti is seeing.

There is a guy with an Impala that has to be pushing up somewhere closer to 1500hp since 4400lbs is doing near 160 in the quarter with a soft launch.

There are guys who have simply pop rivetted the rotor together and turned it to 8500, but ever stupid kid with a heads/cam Camaro will tell you that it can't even drive in the rain on a stock car. The car owners are generally a MUCH bigger problem than the opti.

Lol. I saw one go to 1002.5 . Seems like you answered your own question. As said before rpm is what most people are worried about, but again my personal experience has shown it to be reliable to 8k. Still, others hate em and look for alternatives. Your results may vary. Let us know how it works out with your project. Good luck!

thanks man!! yeah I used to have a 94 imp and never had a problem with the opti, and my camaro now I also havent had a problem.

I was just starting to think about planning a build and was contemplating whether keeping the opti or not.

I've seen one make 950 hp in a turbo app, clean pull to 7500. Saw another one break up at 700 hp with arcing all over the cap. Fresh cap and rotor probably would have fixed it, didn't stick around to see it fixed
