There is no magical formula in determining pushrod length. You have to measure yourself using a pushrod length checking tool and using a solid lifter or a length checking spring. A few quick searches should show you what you need.

Also, .30" off the head is unrealistic. I'm going to assume you meant .030". The other info you provide is not useful in determining anything else.

Yes I meant .030. I guess my question is if the stock length push rods would work without causing piston to valve clearance issues.

Werent you the one just the other day who was * adamant * about the fact that because the headgasket is X thick and the heads have never been milled that Y pushrod HAD to be the correct one because they dont make a size in between...

I can find the thread if you would like.

So which is it? Is there no "magical formula" and you "must measure", or .....

The only thing I ever said was if you're sure the heads have never been off and nothing else has changed then 7.20" pushrods will be fine. You got your **** mixed up, AGAIN.

Here's the post for you: https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...l#post15677508, which you failed to respond to. Why didn't you?

So what info is needed??? How is cam size not useful in determining piston to valve clearance issues? That makes no sense.

You never said anything about piston to valve clearance, only pushrod length? Two different things.

P/V clearance can only be determined by mocking the engine up and use clay to measure the clearance. Again, no magical formula. But since your build has been done literally hundreds of times piston to valve clearance will not be a problem.

You still should measure for proper pushrod length. Have you done a search yet? There are a ton of guides available online.
