Default any lt1 guys in st.joe MO

i need help with my lt1. dont know where my oil leak is coming from...dont have a floor jack and dont no any local shopa out here just drove it from L.A and started to smoke qhen i got to kansas need help

i can drive the car when it heats up its starts to smoke...it leaks on to the headers and the ypipe end. not alot of money to fix it plus i had already change the value cover gasket to day and it still leaks

It's probably coming from the back of the intake or the oil psi sender. Hard to be sure without seeing it in person though. Has anything been done to it besides valve cover gaskets, what kind of gaskets did you get? How many miles are on it?

i have 190,000 miles on it. and where is the oil psi sender located can i fix it my self. the valve cover gaskets came from autozone there rubber and blue

There are going to be a few of us up that way this weekend on alittle club cruise(the missouri f-body assoc.) but its sounding like the rear intake gasket is leaking which is known to happen on lt1's its kinda easy to do pull the intake and put a nice line of rtv on the block side on the front and rear.

i found the problem its the tuming cover gasket. thats where the oil coming from where is a good shop where i dont have to pay alot of money to fix it.

I live in st joe and I drive a 97 lt1 you might as well go to oreilly and buy a timing cover gasket set and just do it yourself that would be the cheapest route
