Default Crank hub

I'm having a hard time with this one. I had a pretty bad wobble on my harmonic balancer. I replaced it, and there's still a small wobble. I think I have to replace the hub. My question is.. where the heck do I find it?

I've checked ebay and my local part stores. I found two online. One is keyed, and my balancer is not. The other one looks kind of odd and is also keyed..

Any ideas?

+1 for Jegs Hub. I got one when I installed my 24x and it fit like a glove. Nice piece.

Are you using a hammer to install the hub onto the crankshaft?

I haven't messed with the hub yet. Just the pulley. I didn't use a hammer when I installed that. Kind of afraid to use a hammer on it actually.

I'd love to find a hub hat doesn't have the key on it. Otherwise I wasted money buying this balancer.

Correct. The hub will be so snugged and will also be bolted with the hub bolt. I don't think that will come loose at all, keyed or not it will be good to go.

I'm talking about the little nub thing on top that goes into the balancer itself. My balancer doesn't have a hole for it.

If I'm reading it right, you're asking about the HUB not the damper. I have the same one that you have pictured. I bought it from jegs and it has been GREAT. I too had wobble. I replaced the damper and still had wobble so I bought the Jegs hub and have never had a problem since. For me, the key was a bonus, it insures it won't spin on the crank.

Edit: I can't remember for sure but I think I just pulled that little tit out.

It is just a roll pin and you knock it out if you do not use it

Oh alright. I'm gonna remove the balancer tomorrow and reinstall it with new bolts and loctite and run it without the belt to see if it wobbles. If it does, I'll go from there. What I'm seeing I think might be from the belt.

You should also lightly sand the face of the hub and the face of the balancer and then make sure when you slide it on its sitting flush.

Would it be a balancer if at about 3500 rpm and up the whole car shakes badly. Driving it or just reving it up?? Any help??

THanks

No. The pulley itself is not a balancer - it's a damper. LT1s are internally balanced in the front and externally balanced in the rear from the factory. Is your vibration related to RPM or MPH?
