Default problem with charging system

I just moved my alternator to the other side (driver), because it wont clear the valve cover. And I add about 2 feet of wire. And now the battery wont charge anymore. It' show around 8-10volt. normal like 12-14. What do you guys think? I used a 8 gauge wire.

Is the small wire still connected to the alt?

# 8 is plenty heavy. Just be sure all other connections are good. One thing I run into on cars is people use crappy crimp connectors, and then squeeze them with pliers. Makes bad connections.

Well, that would be the one wire in the four wire connector on the back of the alt that comes from the dash and allows the alt to turn on and charge.

8v-10v, as you said in your first post, is not charging.

Well. I found out that on the battery say 13.5 with a voltmeter, but on the gauge in the dash say only 12

If you would say where it was, it might help someone in the future.

Did you try reclocking the rear of the alternator and maybe a little grinding on a bolt boss before relocating it and hosing up the wiring?

I bought the relocated bracket from hawk third gen. http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/pr...-No-Belts.html
ANd they powder coated. We hook up the ground wire on it, of course doesn't work that good. But after we rewire the ground somewhere else, now work just fine.
