Default oil filter adapter assembly??

Hey guys I have a buddy with a '93 or '94 vett and has been looking high and low for what he calls the oil filter adapter assembly. Says he's called tons of places and no ones got one. Does anyone know anything about this part and or where to find one??

? Usually it moves the filter down. He could run no adapter and a smaller filter.

Could also be 12556204 and 10168505 and 10215675.

Different years, service numbers. Bolt lengths appear to be the differences.

CAPRICE, confirm?

The same adapter was used on the b-bodies that came without an oil cooler, some LT1s and some L99s.

An oldschool gen1/BBC adapter fits the engine just fine on a stock Caprice the driver's side cat is in the way but headers make room, if your friend has headers maybe the same would work for him?

I have this adapter if I can find where in my garage I stashed it. I found the adapter.

I skipped reading a few posts the adapter not only moves the filter closer to the engine it also changes the needed filter size, and moves the filter down.
The filter number for the adapter is 51036 (wix)
The filter number with out the adapter (i use) is 51069.
With the adapter removed you will need to use a sbc oil filter mount.

Far as I know there were three different adapters used on LT1s, the "vette" one which is offset towards the oilpan with no cooler and was used on b-bodies with no cooler. The f-body oil cooler one that had coolant circulate through the adapter, and the b-body cooler adapter which offset the filter towards the pan and had lines to route oil to a front mounted cooler either in the radiator or in front of it depending.
Maybe that will help if someone decides to go junkyard hunting.
