Default PCM question

I'm planning on doing an OBD1 conversion, will an auto pcm work on an M6 or does it have to be for an M6??

The reason I'm asking is every pcm I find on ebay is for an auto. I'm gonna be using tunercat, is there anything in this to turn off these codes it'll will throw, or can you just turn off something so it wont look for the auto trans? I'm not worried about the SES light being on, it's been on for the last 2 years. lol Just as long as the codes it throws won't affect the running of the engine, that's all I'm worried about.

I am sure someone can give you a M6 basecode to start your tuning from. I will post a link if I find something.

The pcm for the 94-5 f-body(V8) is the same part number as the Caprice Roadmaster Fleetwood and Impala of those same years that may save you some money when shopping. Bet a 4.3L(L99 V8 or baby LT1 as some like to call it) Caprice pcm goes for less money than f-body or Impala pcm even though it is the same hardware just differnt programming inside which you will fix with Tunercat anyway.

So any 94-95 f body pcm or the same year caprice pcm will work no matter if it's a v-8 or v-6 or auto or M6??? I just have to put in the LT-1 code after I get it right? Just wanna make sure before I try to find one and buy it.

It does need to be V8(the 4.3l in the Caprice is a V8) and I will go back and edit my post to avoid confusing anyone else.

That's what I have, a 96. How do you convert it to OBD1?? I was told you have to have a 94-95 pcm which is OBD1.
