yes sir.....daily driver. atleast 200 miles a week.
It doesnt matter if it's a 396 or 383. That doesnt classify it as NOT A DAILY DRIVER.
The cam more likely decides whether it's gonna be streetable.

on the dyno you won't see too much, the biggest difference will be in the torque. Also remember that with a larger CID motor, the same cam will be more streetable than on a smaller (355ish) motor.

Im really liking the stuff ive been hearing about the 396 compared to a 383 stroker. Anyone else got any good input on either of them? IS one better then the other? Cost more? Performe better?

396 is more expensive and marginally better. I would build a 383 again before a 396. I believe in doing it right the 1st time, so if i was going to waste the money on a 396 I would make sure I had a good set of AFR 210-220's with a Super Vic intake converted, and a big custom cam. Machine work was more when i priced it for the 396, and many shops didnt want to do it. I feel that with the same money a 383 will perform just as well.

I agree w/ what he said, if money isn't a prob. and you have a GOOD machine shop avail. The 396 makes a forged crank mandatory(no one makes a 3.875 stroke in cast) which means more $. Besides The Eagle cast steel crank and rods are good to 550 FWHP or better (NA) when properly balanced and assembled. i've seen balanced Eagle 383 kits for $1195.00 shipped that include SRP pistons, bearings, rings,Eagle crank+rods. Also like he said some machine shops are "afraid" to clearance that much cuz they dont wanna poke the water jacket. plus u won't feel in the seat of ur pants those extra 13 C.I.
