1993 T/A question
Did they sell any 1993 Trans Ams without the LT1 engine? There's a guy selling one and he says the car has an original V8 but it's not the LT1. He says they didn't sell them with LT1s in 1993. He says the LT1 didn't go into it until 1995
Just trying to confirm that he's sorta kinda wrong. You guys must know.

ACTUALLY 92 was the first year of the LT1 which came in the corvettes. The 93-97 f bodies (ie trans am, Z28 and formula) all got them after that. As far as the difference between them is the 93 is a speed density motor just like the TPI motors from proceeding years and the 94+ are all MAF motors. The 93 and 94 came with non vented optis (crap) and the 95-97 came with the vented optis (good).
Tell the guy he is a moron if he thinks that someone will buy that story. Unless he swapped in a TPI motor or carbed motor which would be dumb as hell IMO then the car has an LT1 my little brothers 93 Z28 has an LT1 in it and the trans am was NO exception.

Well I went to see it and guess what? It has the original LT1 engine in it. The guy comes out and says it's not an Lt1 again. I took a good look and there's no mistaking what it is. I didn't say anything, paid $4000 and told him I'll pick it up on Monday. His wife's car. She owned it for a few months but wants a mini van now.
Damn thing is practically mint. Loaded, t-tops, no rust (no winters), 70,000 miles. Needs wax though. I'm laughing. This will make a good brother to my WS6. But the Lt1 will be my builder. Gonna do the timing chain and optispark first.
Thanks for the info guys.
