Default Stock stangs are slow

I was on my way home from the mall today. And i was a little pissed so i was driving a little hard. Came up on a red light and i slowed to about 5 as a ~2004 gt mustang came up and took off and got about a 2 car lead on me till i pushed on the gas. I quickly cought up and passed in 2nd and then slowly pulled on him to about 135. if a ten year older car with 100K miles more than me outran me like i did him id role my car off a cliff.

Later that night another older mustang like an early 70's was trying to race me. And i think they had fairly large engine but the dudes were crack heads and i smoke em.

Any one know any times on a stock - mildly moded 4.6 stang is?

I had no problem handing an '04 Cobra his *** with my 150 shot to the wheels. You should have seen the look on this guys face when I was 3 cars ahead of him and kept pulling. He then pulled up next to me, and I purged it, and he wouldn't pull up next to me after that.

Yea they arent much stock...but they can get pretty angry with the right mods. I have a few stang friends. One thing they have is an enormous aftermarket. I tell them....good thing..

the 4.6's have any where from 215-300 depending on year and model.

just off subject https://ls1tech.com/forums/newreply....e=1&p=5357833#
Offtopic, my cousin has a 89 mustang gt and swears that he can spank my z. now these stangs came with 205 horsepower stock at the motor. hes done some basic boltons and its a 5 speed but for him to say that his modded stang can beat my cai z is just dumb i cant wait till i take him to the track.

so back on subject yah the new mustangs are way overrated in my opinion.
just my 2 cents

yeah, the non-PI stangs

unless you're at altitude you must live with a bunch of retards. 99-04 GTs are low 14 second cars on average.

A buddy of mine ran a 14.7 with a bone stock auto 98 GT, a non-pi 4.6L

The 05's are much stronger than everything previous. I drove one and for a Ford I was impressed. It felt like a bone stock LT1 and I think that it would be a drivers race. Whoever throws some bolt-ons on first will win.

Watch out for 30-05 Cobras. Those are wicked fast and will destroy even modified f-bodys. The reason you beat him is Ford traditionally has always had less HP and has always been playing catch up. Ten years has nothing to do with it, its apples and oranges when it comes to HP for those two cars.

NON-PI verts are 15 second cars. Racing one is like fighting a fat kid with short arms.

i'm dead even with stock LS1 WS6's, the only mustangs that have hand it to me were modded 03-04 cobras. other than that i've never lost to a mustang. not even close. sorry...i tied with a GT from a 60 mph roll on the interstate. we went like 4 times. 2 times tied and 2 times i pulled ahead, but i hate roll racing anyway its never an even start and i usually like to let them jump a bit to see if i can reel them in. f bodys have always been faster than mustangs.

fastest i've seen on a good run around here go was 15.0 at 95ish. that was with an x pipe, flows, and intake, non PI heads. the later gt's are a little closer to what an LT1 runs stock, and the 05 GT's are supposed to be slightly faster. its sad, ford is catchin up... 13 years after the LT1 was introduced. you have to have a snake for a mustang to run with an LS1, and most of them still can't do it

Iv'e always liked camaros and firebirds cause where im from mustangs outnumber them 10:1 and everyone thinks mustangs are the shiznit, so of course i enjoy seeing mustangs get the hell beat out of them but I try not to talk alotta bull****,from what i understand(99-04) GT's run 14's in the 1/4 and they dyno anywhere from 215-240 depending whether its auto or manual and they come around 260BHP but they have a big aftermarket and i hardly see a stock one around here, and a 3.8V6 Camaro with a manual transmission is capable of running low 15's in the 1/4 w/ 200BHP, but 4.6 DOHC mach 1's and Cobras especially terminators (03-04) thats a whole nother story, either way i have respect for mustangs and i would have one over a ricer anyday, but like I said, I'll stick with God (LS1).
