Default name this sound

Basically its coming from driver side valvetrain. Its a clacking like a really loud rocker. Car has new hardened push rods, new pro mag rockers 1.6 nsa with gm guide plates, comp 918 springs with tit retainers and 10 degree locks. All parts are close to new having about 1k miles on them. No noise ever came out of the valve covers I had one of the quietest I've heard with these rockers etc.. So i thought it was a bad lifter since I had comp rs with about 1k miles on em so I swapped to brand new oem style and it didn't fix the prob. Basically it wont make the noise at idle but it will once I rev it up a bit and it will make a clacking metal sound then just a progressivly louder slapping noise. If I blip the throttle the noise takes longer to rev down than the engine it's weird. I checked guide plates and they had some wear on them so I am swapping them out for another set but I just wanted to see if anyone had ideas. Btw the whole motor has less than 1500 miles and EVERYTHING is new. Heads were just installed about 200 miles ago after I blew a head gasket. And they were disassembled and reassembled with new guides and valve job.

Watch out for the tightness on the 1.6 promagnums, I had one or two come loose after the first night of beating on it. They haven't come loose since, but they generally make a ton of noise when loose and increase in noise with the rpm, I'd check those poly locks!

I replaced rockers with another set I had rockers were all tight I've never had one come loose as long as you do zero lash then tighten poly lock then give nut a turn with a wrench they have never come loose

Default noise

I have had an on going noise problem as well, I have changed the lifters back to GM from comp R's, changed back to factory pushrods, checked roller rockers out several times and they are all still tight. Now I am getting used to it. I have researched it alot, and most peaple seem to have this noise issue. it hasen't caused any damage, so I have give up on trying to stop it.

You sure its not a ticking noise? (either from a plug or then a exhaust leak?)

Start your car at night and look for a spark plug arching over its boot. Also check your exhaust gaskets.
