Default my car died, need help ASAP

twice in the past few days, its happened when im either slowing down or at a low speed and I hit the accelerator, the car just dies, the last time it happend it took a few minutes for it to start back up again, the car would turn over but wouldnt start, the opti has been changed, and the car has had a tuneup, but its probably been 15xxx miles ago atleast,or could this just be a bad fuel filter or bad fuel pump?

check a plug to see if it may be fouled out.

it would bea good idea to do the filter too as it may be a cheaper weak link than the pump. check your fuel pressure to make sure if it even is the fuel system.

I agree, when your slowing your fuel pressure does drop, so if theres something clogging the fuel system it makes sense that the car would die.

It happend to my car and i bought a fuel pump. Before i installed it i changed my filter and bam... thats all that needed to be done. I cut open the filter and it wasnt actually that bad only a little dirty. I've only had the car a couple of months but it has low milage and im guessing it just needed to be done. Havent had a problem in over a month now.

Check the Filter. If you have to change the Pump, there is an easier way to do it, it took me 25 minutes, and I didn't drop the Tank. You cut out a little Acess Panel on back under the Carpet. Pm me if you want more info.

I will take dropping the tank over cutting an acess panel. What happens when you acidentaly cut the tank or hit a line, or worse yet, a spark finds gas.... uh huh.... why would you NOT drop the tank? what is it, 2 straps, and the need for a couple jacks? I just can't see the logic in cutting your car up to save a few minutes.

I learned this through the experience of it...
The Lines are appx. 1.5" below the cuts, and being a Fire Fighter, I understand how combustion works. You are sitting on top of a tank of Gas. The more full it is, the safer it is believe it or not...
That and the Vapor line goes under the Tank, and out the back of the car. Everything is sealed on top. I had no problems. I had a Fire Extinguisher next to me just incase..lol
Also, you forgot to account for the weight of the gas in the Tank, unless you plan on sucking it all out before you drop it. I had 15 Gallons in it.
