Default All coming together

Just got off the phone with my head/cam guy for a good hour.

Picked a cam out for my heads, he is ordering everything I need in the morning. Should have the heads, intake, and TB back by the end of the week. All other parts by mid next week. Then will just have to get the parts to build up my tranny.

Not going to go into the specs on the cam or head flow numbers because he plans to become a sponsor on here once my car hits the dyno and or track to prove his work.
I can say it will be on the stock bottom end, am not spinning the motor past 6000RPM

He told me the car WILL make around 450rwhp on the motor (maybe a little more). Will handle enough spray to hit 500rwhp.

Cam has a rough idle but nothing CRAZY, not a monster cam either.

Once I get the car back from dyno tuning I will let you guys know what it did.

Stock CUI, I trust what he says, he has made some carzy numbers on smaller turbo/cams supras, has a C5 that flies on stock cubes and a not crazy cam.

Even if its a tad lower he said it will for sure make 500rwhp safe on the bottle and less than a 100 shot.

He told me it should only take a 50 shot to get me there.

After seeing some of the stuff he has done with a 71mm supra I trust him.

Also told me it WILL go deep into the 11's on the motor. We will just have to see how deep and with the cage in it hahaha.

450rwhp unlocked? It'll be great to see, should go 10's on the motor no problem if you can make the power AND have a good curve.

Yeah he laughed when I said I was hoping for 11's on the motor LOL.

The power curve is why we picked this cam, it does not make as much peak power (not much less) as some but makes sick power from low RPM clear to when I will be shifting it.

Yeah unlocked, right now m stall will not lock, I might send it back in for a restall (3200 now) and have him make it a lock up, don't know yet.

With all this on the 28 inch tall MT E.T. Street and 4.10's it should be sick.

10 bolt still but he may be able to get me a MOSER 12 bolt cheap new. If he can then it better run 10's lol

Your going to have to go real wicked to get 450rwhp unlocked through a stall, big et streets, and a 12 bolt.

Not going to be on big tires on the dyno or the 12 bolt. Yeah on those it would be hard lol.

We will just wait and see, he said 500rwhp on a small shot safe no problem so its all good.

Even so 450 unlocked will be hard with a decent stall, how long until it'll be on the dyno?

Depends on old man winter. Going to have to drive the car at least two hours before I get to any GOOD shops and refuse to drive threw the snow in it. Will drive it up on a mail order tune.

If I can catch a break MAYBE mid Feb at the latest. Might be sooner.

After thinking about it threw the stall it might not make 450 to the wheels but know it will still make 500 on the bottle safe.

Well my guy called me today and we ended up going with a SLIGHTLY different cam, it will be a custom grind, cam is made for drag track times (not for just power alone) so it may make a tad less power on the motor.

Cam shoud be here next week, valves, rockers, ect ect are at his place. He is looking into some injectors for the car and a few other things.

Heads will be done by the weekend we hope.

I'm very interested to see how this all goes.

How has the car ran before and with what mods?

I learned the hard way that mail order tunes SUCK! Car runs rich enough to throw rich codes and thats with new O2's and plugs.

On to low of tire pressure on street tires it went 13.8@100 with a 2.2-2.3 60 time

Basic bolt-ons, magnaflow, 3.42's, little suspension work, mail tune, plugs, wire, a little weight reduction.

TB elbow is also torn up (replacing) so I know thats hurting me, also did not have my racetronix fuel pump voltage booster hooked up then. On Everyone that has seen it run has said it should go 13.5 easy on stickies as it sits now with the bugs it has maybe 13.4ish.

This is what it will have (basic list)

Race ported big valve 374's
Custom grind cam
Good ignition and complete aftermarket fuel system with 42#'s (stock lines)
Built tranny with stall
Full bolt-ons with LT's and no cats
N20
4.10's
Pro stars with stickies
Suspension that it has now
Dyno tune
Cage (with the weight mods I have done it will put the car back to near factory weight)
Lots of other stuff

Cam was also matched to my gears and stall. Heads and cam also match very well.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for 450rwhp unlocked through a 12 bolt and slicks, expecially if your only spinning it to 6k. I'de expect around 375-385rwhp tops. Hopefully you prove me wrong though.

I allready posted about knowing it will not do that threw the stickies and 12 bolt

Its going to the dyno on a 10 bolt and sallad shooters.

Waiting to hear back to see if I should send my stall back in and turn it into a lock up and all.

Id rather not say what I am paying for the heads because its CHEAP. He is using my car to put on his site and use for when he starts advertising here.

Heads are LT1 374 castings, they have a little more material for porting over the average LT1 heads.

Cam I am getting pretty cheap but would rather not say because he is working on head and cam package prices.

Out of fairness I will not post his company name untill he is a paying sponsor.

Good luck, it'll be interesting to see how it competes against some of the already proven people.(LE, AI, TEA, etc)

Yep should be interesting.

We will see what this car runs compared to say an LE2 car.

I think it will shine more at the track then on the Dyno but thats were it counts.

I'll be a good comparision for you, le2 setup, but I'm going to run a TIGHT stall so it can hook hard on the streets on the cold tires and hook hard on the juice on heated tires on the streets, I don't care as much about the track with this car. That being said I'm going to be giving up 2-3 tenths easily by running the tight converter on motor. I still think it'll do a 11.4 at 118 on a soft 60ft on the motor without much problem. I honestly think a properly setup le2 car could go 10's on the motor.

Dyno #'s aren't that important, for what it's worth, my 98 camaro went the 11.39 at 118.7 on the motor with only 356rwhp and weighed ~3400lbs.
