Default No SES light 94 Z28?

Well my tranny is going out and i thought i might ground A+B connecter together to get the readings from the data Link Connector. Then i turned the ignition to ON and the SES light doesnt blink or anything, but i know the bulb works cause when i take off the A+B ground the light turns on when i start the car then goes off. The car runs great but i dont know why the SES/ECM light isnt responding in diagnostics mode? any help or suggestions please.

I'm pretty sure that doesn't work on 94's. You will need to hook it up to a scanner or code reader.

I was thinking that also may be the problem.....i tried it cause it says it will work in the CHILTON manual but that thing isnt always correct. Ill try a scanner and see what happens

chiltons is a joke man, some of the things they tell you to do in there are unnecessary or is just to show off. thats why i have it in my bathroom and it never leaves there because you always need something good to read in there.

thats the only thing that sucks about OBD1 you have to guess at some of this **** that happens.

As said, 93 is the last year the flashing codes method works. Need to hook up a scanner.

Oh and, if you want a real diagnostic manual, get yourself one of these:

I got it on ebay, but you can also buy them at this site:

http://www.goodwrench.com/Tips/OwnerManuals.jsp

Here are the links for various years.

1993
1994
1995
1996
1997

There's $100+ at that site though. You can get them on ebay usually for cheaper. http://search.ebay.com/search/search...ual&category0=
