PPL who seafoamed check in
After read couple posts poeple who have had problems with seafoaming their Lt-1's I began to wonder. I have never seafoamed my other two t/a's but was going to on my curenty 95 w/88,xxx on the clock. I wanted to give it a major tune up etc. Advice for those of you who have sucessfully do it with not problems. Or even those who have f-ed up what not to do. I have the write up on how to but just wanted opinions. tHanks

Well, like I said in the other thread, never had a problem here. If you're poor, you can use water to steam the engine clean. It doesn't work NEAR as well, but it'll help some.

I haven't done the full three step process(just the the crankcase and the gas tank), but I have no complaints. Feels a little bit better, and my gas mileage has went up 1-2mpg.

I don't use seafoam, never will. I run with BG products because a friend of mine works for them. BG is seen in all the higher end dealerships. They have a buttload of products but one is similiar to seafoam but 10X's better. They have a kit that comes with injector and intake cleaner which a professional machine shoots the product threw the intake and cleans everything out.
Of course I benefit from this because of my friend, but normally if you take it to a dealership that uses BG products your probably looking around 80-90 bucks for a complete intake cleaning at a dealership ( this stuff isn't at your local autozone). But you pay for quality.
I also run there MOA which is similar to Lucas Oil. I get if for free that's why I use it, but man after seeing my inside my throttle body after using BG's intake cleaner I wouldn't even look at another product.
It will smoke as it's cleaning the crap out. But soon as it cleans the junk out the car definitely performed better, you could feel it.
I won't post a link because I don't know if there's others sponsors here. Just letting you know there are better options out there.

Anyone who gets stuff free, and too ignorant to try the competing product(s), has their opinion ignored by me. It's 10x better and yet you've never used Seafoam. Rrrrrrrright.

I've never seafoamed my car, but I did do it to my Colorado. Everything worked fine for me, I did the whole 3 step deal, but I did get the clattering noise at the end. I didn't really notice a diffrence on the truck just that it smoked a whole lot down my neighborhood.

I wonder if the Foaming wasn't the direct cause of the gasket going out, but an indirect one. Carbon build up was all that was keeping the gasket from being blown, and the Seafoam did its job, removing the carbon. The "carbon dam" no longer was in place, or strong enough, and thar she blows...
