the tune would help for about maybe 6-10 rwhp gain. the foil would be 1-3 maybe.

At least 100 rwhp. Maybe 105. Should drop a full second off of your quarter mile times.

Ok so I answered this once, and now the question has been changed into a poll and the replies were deleted. Nice. Guess when the truth hurts, its deleted around here? Would be nice to know why the truthful correct answers were deleted.

1. 160 tstat - maybe 5hp, wouldn't be noticed except maybe would feel a little better in town when the engine is hot.

2. Airfoil - By the time this modification is needed based on how much airflow your engine requires compared to how much your throttle body can flow, you'd be better off replacing the TB all together. In short, waste of money and time. Possible increase in power? Maybe, if you have the exhaust to support it, MAYBE 3-5hp.

3. PCM - Maybe 0, maybe 5, maybe 10, at the wheels. A blanket tune for a stock car has too many variables to help out that much. An aftermarket tune is great to change certain aspects of your car, like rev limiters, removing codes, etc. A blanket tune for a stock car is like putting in an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Will it help? Maybe. Will it hurt? Maybe. You are better off getting your specific car tuned by someone. Then, if you change anything, you have to get it tuned again. Best bet? Buy a tuning package, and let us help you learn how to tune it yourself.

air foil will not give crap!tpi cars benefit more from that.
add some kind of CAI to maximize the tune!
actual rwhp gain would be 15-20 maxxx.

I say 15 if the tune is a good tune. The other stuff might be 3 or 4 hp.

There are a few basic tuning mods that will help almost any stock car. The stock A/F ratio is too rich at high rpm wot, just changing that will give at least 5-10, if the tuner knows what they are doing. Of course what you say is true also, it's always best to verify things with a scanner or similar since if other components are not working or there are errors, then settings that would help on a good running stock car may have other effects.

I gotta say that the tune alone should be worth a lot. I'm guessing your car right now is pig rich on the factory tune. Those guys did 2 tunes for me with excellent results. I'd say at least 20 no problem. BTW that 60 foot is real bad. Get those things smokin' in the pit before you pull to the line.

LOL

Get a CAI instead of the Air Foil. Not a eBay CAI either, a real one, like Moroso or SLP.

What you will notice more often then not is throttle response over power gain. There will be some sort of gain. .05hp is still a gain lol Yet the throttle response will be what you notice and think is the power gain. Well, that's what people tell me (Capy mostly, but he's got an over inflated ego), and I still think that to get more throttle response there has to be a gain somewhere.

Anyways, you'll love your car after a tune. But if it's tuned for 160º TStat, you best get one and put one in soon there after.

I increased the Volumetric Efficiency when I tune I think our cars (TPI and LT1) are under estimated. Either way, I've only tuned once, my TPI, and I tuned my own LT1 chip (different in 93) and even I noticed quite a difference in my car after doing it. And I don't know what i"m doing! So with a professional doing it, you'll be quite happy, I can only imagine though heh

im guessing if you got those mods you would be around the mid 275-285 to the wheels if you have an M6. I put down 282, with low fuel pressure. I have pretty much the same mods as you so far but i also have 1.6 RR and an electric waterpump (i know it doesnt help much but every little bit helps)

looking at what you have done to your car, and if your looking for cheaper horsepower with out having to touch internals or the cam, i would suggest a set of 1.6 roller rockers. You could get a set for under $170 on ebay.
