I have an LT1 with these mods: (i know some of the mods dont matter but i just cut and pasted my momd list)

ZR1 17 * 11 (rear) 17 * 9.5 (front) (need to be picked up still)
Stock LT1 Block (half filled) Bored .030” over to 383 CI
Iron Eagle Crank
Mahle Forged Pistons
6” Eagle H-beam Forged Rods
Hardened Push rods
Hell Fire piston rings
Futral Motorsports Godzilla Cam (234/241 576/598 112 LSA)
Lifters (forgot name brand but they match the setup)
comp cams pro-mag 1.6 RR’s
New stiffer Springs and Containers
Ported aluminum heads to match cam
Valves
36 LB Injectors

Should i leave the car with the stock style intake or would it be good to be able to remove the harness and not have to deal with the opti VATS sensors etc..?

Its up to you, most people will stay EFI but if you like carbs then go for it

Im thinking about converting over to a carb setup

There is no INTELLIGENT reason to consider a carburetor.

I'd keep the fuel injection. I was about to do this on my thirdgen lt1 swap and luckily I didn't. I dont know where you live, but if its your DD and you live in cold conditions and carb can be a hassle starting up and all that. Really the opti shouldnt make you want to go with a carb. The money that you will spend to swap a carb on there is money you can save to just fix the opti if does go at some point. If you just love carbs and are really good with them then do what you want, but EFI on these cars is the way to go in my opinion.

I was always told you can get it dialed in better with fuel injection.

EFI > carb. if the car is EFI, there is no good reason to step down. if the car already has a carb... then going up to EFI will be a boost, but not needed

EFI, FOR THE WIN
please dont get me wrong its your car, there are no true known gains that out weigh having EFI.
the efi community has too many fast cars to resort to carb.its just my opinion
do what makes you happy bro

well the car is in new orleans, LA and it doesnt really get too cold down here.. i was trying to see if it would flow better than my lt1 style intake. I just want to go as fast as possible.. and if i wouldnt have to worry about the opti anymore it would be a plus.. not to mention its a whole lot easier to get the nitrous hooked up on the carb style intake..

Well you can always get rid of the opti and keep the fuel injection. As far as the nitrous setup on mine it really isnt hard at all
