i would guess the gaskets bewteen your block and water pump slipped, try using some black rtv to help it hold.

Agreed with posts above. Also, did you make sure you got most of the old gasket off when you put the new one on, that can cause leaks as well.

I know it sounds stupid, but go back and see if you can tighten any of the bolts down any further. This happened to me the first time i reinstalled my water pump. I mean might as well give it a once over before you decide to pull it off again.

Me too. I always put them on dry with no RTV or anything.

i always clean and then glue the new gasket to the waterpump then clean the block surface and add some glue to it. once i had a tiny hole in one of the hoses and it looked like it was leaking down from the pump.

All great reponses above.

Just my two cents. If you end up using RTV, first make sure that the block and water pump facings are cleaned thoroughly. Also, be very careful with RTV near the coolant system. You don't want a wad of that stuff floating around in your coolant system.

*cough* Temp sensor in tight with thread tape? (as well as thread tape on the water pump bolts).

The way to do it isn't thread tape or a bunch of black goop. Put the bolts thru the pump and the gasket put a little sealant on the end of the bolt and the gasket will not fall off and it will also make sure the bolts seal up good. Just be care full that you don't push the water pump all the way on before you start all the bolts and you are golden.

We either use nothing or thread tape and never have a problem.
