Mine does this sometimes too. It just started doing it. I don't understand either. My sister's Z also has this problem except hers never goes off. Is there an abs sensor that could go out causing this issue?

Ok just wait a sec I've got the troubleshooting diagram somewhere.

Well...I have it here. What is the DTC. I've got the big green book with the ABS section open.

Yes...there are ABS sensors on each wheel, hopefully thats what wrong with yours if you've checked all the ABS sensors. If its not the sensors, its the module itself.

Deff. check the 3rd brake lights. GM was stupid and in the mid 90's they made the ABS module ground through the lights. Or so I heard....kind of a stupid, yet somewhat believeable idea, but only cause its GM.

mine is doing it randomly because the front passenger side sensor wire was burned my my header. i need to re solder a new section and move it away. its grounding or shorting to the body and header.

Make sure all your grounds in the engine compartment have good connections, there is one on the passenger side on the wheel well, just above the batter, i had this happen to me, i cleaned it up and tightened it and the light went off. If its still doing it you might have to go around to each wheel speed sensor and clean the connectors or make sure the headers did not burn the wires that go to the front wheel speed sensors.

Both my ABS and my APS or whatever it is are on. The switch for the APS does not work but I have not looked into the ABS... guess I should I just have been busy working on the interior and cleaning up the Rice mine seemed to come with.

I will watch this thread to see what some of the common causes you gusy find or if Grounding turns out to be it.

Why do I think I know how you feel... with all the lighting, extra live speaker and amp wiring, cut wiring... etc etc etc.

I hate to see cars such as ours treated in such a mannor.
