Default Will 6Cyl 6 speed work in a V8..question from a unregistered friend

He has a Buick Regal that he is putting a 99 LS1 in and he is trying to find a transmission. From the text that I just got it seems he has found a V6 6speed and wants to know if it will work with some modification with a V8. Any help as usual is greatly appreciated guys.

What model is the transmission? "V6 6speed" isn't much to go from.

Says guy told him its out of a 97 Camaro. I told him he is getting scammed and not to buy it because as far as I know the only v6 camaro w/ 6spd will be the 2010 model.

even if that '97 was a V8 car, the LT1 and LS1's input shaft lengths are different, theres no way thats gonna work for him, tell him to man up and call six speeds inc.

What year is the regal?

The only V6/6 speed that I can think of GM making is the new Pontiac G6.

I'll second that notion! I've got one of Mike's GTO T56 boxes in my car and I haven't been able to hurt the thing, it's built like a brick. It shifts smoother than F-body synchros, and it's super quiet. Happy customer here.
