Default clutch/shifting problems

soooo when my car is cold its ridiculously hard to put it into reverse and every gear for that matter. same when its hot except just a little less hard. its like i have to slam it into gear. dont know if its the clutch or the shifter or hell... both.

another problem is that its ridiculously easy to grind. i have to shove the pedal allllllll the way to the floor for it to engage the gear cleanly. makes powershifting very hard to do without being completely precise.

Maybe its your slave cylinder or master cylinder because it does it in every gear

is that for the being hard to engage gears or the easy grinding?

sounds like the clutch isn't fully disengaging, which causes the synchros to have to work harder to get it into gear, which explains both the hard shifting and easy grinding. let it go long enough and it'll wear out your trans and then you'll have some real problems.

I would try bleeding the clutch and see if there's any improvement. go find a level surface, put the car in 1st gear and rev to 6k rpm. if the car lurches at all (don't hold the brake) then your clutch is dragging

hmm would draining and changing out the fluids be a safe bet to do also?

It's either a defective clutch, faulty hydraulics, or both. Do the "drag" test and if it's dragging flush and bleed the hydraulics.

Check back in with us after you've done this.
