Is it feasible to have TWO clutches? A DD, and a weekend clutch? Monthly swapping? Well, I'm posting this because I haven't changed my first LS1 clutch, and I'm not sure on all the particulars, but to those who have;
Is it feasible for me to run a new factory clutch & flywheel for 95% of the year, and then in December & January when I will be racing swap to my "race" clutch (&flywheel) ? I mean, tires get swapped, right? This may be my answer to having a clutch last 50+K miles, and then on the weekend having a clutch that can hold a 5.5K clutch drop.
How quickly have you refined your clutch swap to? Comments on bleeding the system?

Yes it's possible, but get ready to have an extra 8 hours or so every month so you can swap out clutches if it's your first time. I would imagine it would get old real quick. If it were me, I'd just look for a clutch that best fits your needs.

first i hope you not driving vette, cause it sucks to swap clutch. if you want street/ strip clutch, try textralia. very streetable and light padel pressure.

If I were going to "swap motors too", I'd just have two PCMs and two cam grinds. Haha, I'm only kidding about this, but I am serious about the clutch swaps.
So has anyone stream lined their installation time to something they'd care to brag about?

without a lift and if everything went smooth (and we all know that is not usually the case) maybe 3 hours to do the clutch? with a lift and all the proper tools maybe 2 hours. i did mine the first time in 4 hours, not counting having to wait on tools to get there lol

Running two flywheels, would I have any issue removing each flywheel from its corresponding "set" and then installing later?
I'm essentially trying to have my cake and eat it too.

It sound fine and dandy, and may even go over well the first couple of times you swap the two out. But, eventually it will get VERY old and monotonous. When that happens, procrastination will set in and one clutch will stay until it goes out and you swap in the other. BAM! Back to having one clutch, only difference is that this time you will not want to have another laying around to swap in durring some of your 'spare' time. (no such thing as spare time to a college student!)

I can change a clutch in about 3 hours, but I've had to pull it so many times I just turn it into a weekend project. I pull it out friday night, remove and replace clutch saturday, and put the tranny back in on sunday. Trust me you will get tired of dropping the trans all the time. Just get a textralia and be done with it.

If you mean you will leave the clutch in for 2 mo then go back to the street clutch for the other 10 mo then I would say go for it. If you mean you would swap it out every weekend for 2 mo then I would say if you have the time, but it will get old quick. I can change mine in one night. I have started about about 5pm and had it running and driveing around 9pm. so it can be done. Would I want to do it every weekend? Not a chance.

Chris81's impressive LS6 cam&clutch was one of the factors that made me decide to go back to a stock clutch, but, as I've already said, I'm not building an 8.8" for nothing.
