Default shifting trouble, urgent help needed

Hey, happy holidays, now that the formalities are out of the way, I just drove 500 miles to see my parents up in the northeast, during the trip sometimes the manual transmission wouldn't want to go into a certain gear. Stopped at a rest stop, it refused to go into reverse, so I had to push the car out of the spot, later however, it would go into reverse sometimes. This problem with all the gears is relatively new, however it was always tough to go into reverse after I finished dropping the drivetrain to change out the clutch back in october. Sometimes the shifter doesn't want to move into position, I can force it in there, but not with reverse now, it refuses to go regardless of how much force I put on the stick. I could really use some help regarding this, I don't know where to start looking to investigate this problem. Is it an issue with how I reassembled it? Everything seemed fine when reinstalling, except the throwout bearing was rattling around a little more. Has anyone seen this before? As always, any help appreciated

Might want to try a tranny fluid change.

Could be a number of things.

Synchros were on their way out I assume already.
Probably a bent shift fork from use over time.
Or the TO bearing.

Well, unfortunately I don't have the time or the capabilities to deal with this right now, I'm heading back down to VA in a week, I don't have a lift at my disposal so I am just going to try and find a tranny shop up here, see if they could fix it. I'd rather figure it out myself but I don't have time. Thanks for the comments

Im in the same boat, having a similar problem except mines limited to reverse only. Im hoping its something simple like a fluid change, TO bearing or clutch. I really dont have the $$ to be dealing with shift forks or syncros right now.

Did you ever get it straightend out?

After talkin with a lot of my buddies, and readin some previous posts it seems to be a R synchro problem more than anything else.

yeah, that sounds like what his problem was as well. sometimes it will only affect one gear that is rarely used too. Mine went out in 5th. I always used 6th whenever I could and would normally skip 5th for highway driving.
