Ive had mine on the car for 6yrs and it's great
I bought a Lou's short stick for it though
Need only regular hand tools and just follow the instructions.

It does on a camaro. That's Install U is so good. Pictures that even an idiot can follow. The parking brake crap always Fs me up but other than that it's fairly simple. I'm not even sure you have to screw with that little dewy but you do have to put it in N. Chock the wheels so it will be in the same place if you leave it.

You CAN do it without removing the console, but it is a SERIOUS PITA!! It really sucks, trying to get that damn boot out with the console still in. Its easier to just take out the console.

I've had the Hurst billet also for about 7 yrs. The stick is a bit long. I cut mine down about 1-1/2" and re-threaded the end. Made a huge difference. I've never completely removed the console to remove/install a shifter either. But getting the boot screws out is a bit of a PITA.

Plus, removing the console opens up another vacuuming project.

I removed the consold when putting a shifter in my old '02 WS6... fairly simple.

On the T56 in my GTA I run a Hurst Billet Plus. I had the long chrome stick on it, the a JSS, broke the JSS, and now have the chrome stick on it again.
