Default Does my clutch look ok??

spec stage 3+, 6k miles, was slipping due to hydraulic issues we are pretty sure, pressure plate is a little worn down but other than then everything looks good, also a small oil leak which i think is whats on the flywheel??

those spots on the flywheel just look like hot spots from the clutch

i agree i think im going to put in back in with a new slave cylinder tonight.. it looks good and was holding fine until it would not engage all the way due to crappy hydraulics.

i've heard of people taking a DA to their flywheel to "rough 'em up" some and take that off....using a pretty fine grit...i'm not sure if that's recomended by people here, but i can't see it hurting any?

take the flywheel to a machine shop while its out and get it resurfaced!! they will charge you about 30- $35.

get it resurfaced just to get rid of the hot spots?? wouldnt it be easier just to use some scotch brite or some fine grit sand paper on a in line flat sander?

yea but then it wouldn't be even.

the machine shop will use a pad that is the size of the flywheel and it will bring the whole thing down to the same amount instead of having spots that are higher and lower.

It looks fine. I know 6K is still overall low miles, but the clutch is designed to wear.slip so other parts of the car dont. That is normal wear. You could just be safe and turn the flywheel if you want. The clutch and pp look fine.

sweet, yeah i talked to spec and they said to get either some emery cloth or sand paper and kinda buff it up to get rid of the hot spots... they said dont get it machined because the clutch disk has already worn its face into the flywheel and it will just wear funny for a while until it refaces the flywheel.... sounds like im gonna scratch it up a little and stick her back in, thanks for the help guys
