Default Am I too big to drive a M6?

I really want to get a M6 LS1 Camaro SS but i dont know if i would be able to drive it. Im 6'5" and 250 lbs, and i feel that if i were to let up on the clutch my knee would get stuck in between the door and steering wheel and not be able to let out the clutch all the way. How tall are you guys and do you have any problems driving an M6.

I am 6' 4" and 200lbs and I have been daily driving one for two years. My brothers 6'8" and he does have some trouble! And knee contacting the dash isn't the issue its the shifter hitting my right knee.

i know ls1joe isnt the smallest of people, and he bangs gears with the best of them.

i heard unit is like 6'7" and he has a 03 cobra. i dont think size matters really, thats why we have power seats and tilt steering

This is the easiest of qs to answer. Try one------youll like it. TRhere is no dif between stuffing a big guy in an auto or a manual. If you want to dirve a manual just do it. Of course you may not be an f-car guy ( manual that is ). Sad but not the topic.

i'm 6'2" 240lbs and have no problem, only issue I have is when driving spiritedly, sometimes when turning my hand will hit my knee. Not a big issue, day to day is fine and my dad who is 6'3" 300lbs doesn't have a problem either.

i'm 6'4"....175lb lol. There is plenty of room, leg room wise. I acctually have the seat forward a little bit, when the seat is a little forward, it feels best for when im getting gangta lol It feels like you have a lot more control when you dont have to completly extyend your leg, maybe its just me. It took some time, but i got it just right(power seat) bring the back all the way down, bring the front up a little, and it perfect.

6'4" 235 here. no probs at all. like 2 SSlow said... i've got my seat about an inch forward too. no probs shifting or turning. actually, my knee is in just the right spot for some "hands free driving with my knee" cruise control! i rarely drive down the highway with my hands on the wheel. (don't worry, i'm in oklahoma where the roads are long and straight with about 4 people on them at any given time!!!)
go ahead and get one! you'll have a blast!

good luck

mac

I'm 6'3" 260lbs and have no trouble in an f-body, only cars I have trouble in are t.he solstice and s2000. In fact I don't even have to put the seat all the way back in my TA.

damn, some big bastards some of you guys are, lol, let me drive your car and ill go a tenth quicker.

im 5'11" and weigh about a buck forty-five and have the fastest feet in michigan...

ok, maybe im not the best, but i like to tell people im ok, but my friends tell me im real good.

and if you go buy an m6 you will need to test drive it before you buy it, so when you find the car you want you can decide if its for you or not.

I'm 6'4, no problems here. One big thing that helped though is that when I got the lou's short stick I didn't run a spacer between the stick and the shifter. As such, the stick sits a little to the right. It's almost like 1st gear is where 3rd gear would be stock. It's not awkward at all even if it sounds like it, plus it's far from my knee.

If anything us tall guys are lucky because we can more easily brace ourselves when taking a tight turn.
