Talking Textralia Arrived!

Ok, yeah, so it's not in yet....but it's going in tomorrow night! OZ700 Z-grip with a new slave and pilot.

I am pretty psyched about this. As long as my car starts, I'll be taking it to a friends and swapping it there. Unforunately I've been having an issue lately where the key turns all the way and all power is there, but nothing. It does it once in a while and a few nights ago left me stranded in a commuter parking lot where I was meeting friends. We ended up having to pop start it to get it home.

I'm gonna swap the clutch interlock switch and see if that might be the issue. Hopefully it's not an ignition cylinder gone bad, cause I don't want to replace that damn thing.

I'll post up a review of the Tex as soon as I get a little seat time with it if everything goes well (or if everything DOESN'T go well...).

I unfortunately don't have a spare. But we successfully bypassed the security system at one point with a few resistors wired in and while it started once, it wouldn't start again, so the issue was still there. I plan on getting a new key just to make sure (and because I need a spare), but the security light doesn't come on or anything when it happens, so it makes me think that the key is fine. The clutch switch was only $8, so I'm trying that. Worst case scenario, it wasn't the switch and I have a new switch for $8, since they have been known to die.

have you by chance checked your starter, most people get so worked up on the technology thing and overlook the easiest stuff. i would personally check the starter/battery and all grounds/power wires

I would like to take this time to thank, myself, for the one who influenced joe in getting this wonderful item.

*Clapping ensues*

*Bow, Bow*

*Waves and exits, to the right*

That and a little research was all it took. I'll give you the credit.

Now if I can just get my car to start, I'll throw this badass clutch in there.

AND BY THE WAY, you know you spent some money on the clutch when it shows up in a wooden crate/box screwed shut with "TEXTRALIA" burned into the wood.

Yeah, I haven't checked the battery because I have power for everything and when the car starts, it starts completely fine with no issues. But my brother has a 2002 Z28 also, so maybe I'll throw his battery in mine just to check it out if we don't see something else.

I replaced the clutch interlock switch last night and that did nothing. So now I have a new clutch switch. I'm just praying it's a loose wire somewhere and not the ignition cylinder. Even the starter would be better than the cylinder because I don't mind spending a little more money as long as the swap is easy.

As it currently stands my slow ***, miss matched LT1 is still faster then your clutch blowing heap of crap. That if it needed to go out to a race, there would be a 1 in 8 chance of actually starting.

Needless to say, I am not worried.

In response to your first statement, your LT1 may have been quicker in the 1/4, but it definitely wasn't faster, so make sure you choose the right words.

In response to your second statement, I can always pop start it if I need to do some racing.

I played around with some wiring last night and got it to fire up 4 times in a row with no issue, so I'll have to check again tonight to see if maybe one of those wires I hit last night is loose. It was too dark to really tell.

1. You don't own it anymore

2. That car was an A4, so take your A4 trash talking to the AUTO section. Here's the link:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic-transmission-13/.

I'll take my M6 over that A4 anyday, even if I had a slower ET AND trap speed.

So long as we're in the MAN-ual section, and talking about cars that we can actually go race tonight, for that matter, I still have the faster AND quicker car until you prove otherwise. My original statement about you being the "slow friend" is still 100% accurate.
