Default How about Spec Stage 2 Clutch

What is everyone's opinion on a SPEC stage 2 Clutch with stock flywheel for a stock 99 Camaro SS. Planning on adding bolt ons and maybe spray and some street drag radials.

I had a Spec 2 for over 40,000 miles, about half of that putting out over 400 rwhp. The only reason I took it out was that I was gong to a stage 5 with my new 408. FWIW, have the balance checked by a local machine shop before the install of this or any other clutch.

Ive put about 1000 miles on my SPEC Stage 2 clutch, daily driven. Had a couple street races on it, no drag races though. I have no complaints about it yet.

I had an issue with mine and the stock flywheel (wouldn't fully disengage and it was the clutch, not hydraulics), but other than that, it felt great for a regularly driven car and seemed to hold my 400rwhp well. It will definitely last a lot longer than some of the higher stage clutches due to the full disc kevlar material, but it doesn't like hot-laps or real high RPM clutch dumps if that's what you plan on doing.

Had a Spec 2 in my car for a while and didn't even get 10k on it as a DD. It didn't do anything crazy and come apart, but the friction material just glazed over and the clutch would slip like crazy. I'd look to something else.

I just got an OEM LS7 clutch kit. It is made by LUK. It doesn't have any specs listed though...
