Made sure the tab was still pushed in and then pushed into qd. May have to get a small flat head and while pushing in pry up on the locker(white plastic piece) to make sure it is seated. You haven't pressured up on the line have you(mashed clutch pedal with line off). If so you may have to break the line to bleed pressure off or press in the qd with bleeder open to relieve it if there is trapped pressure.

Make sure the white plastic ring on the line to the master cylinder is pushed away from the slave cylinder and it should just push right in and click/lock into place. No special tools required. If its doesnt click into place then there might be something wrong with the locking fingers in the slave or the line itself? Could try cracking the bleeder on the slave.

Also, if the plastic ring is missing I used a bushing from a brake bushing kit to disconnect it.
Here is the original thread. Apparently this happens quite a bit.

Wow really? I just used a screwdriver & pushed on the white ring to release it, then popped it right back in when I installed it. Yea, they make a "special tool" for this but I have done a few clutch jobs & never needed this special tool. Usually a 17 mm wrench works. BTW, GM is not the only one that uses this type of connection for the clutch hydraulics.
