Default Okay, I have a question.

So my wife joined the air force and i'm in the army. she leaves for basic about the time i get back from my deployment (long story, basically i'm an idiot). okay, so does anybody know the policy for married personel in different branches? will they try to put us close together or do i have to try to get orders on my own? Any help would be apprecieated.

this just happened to one of my Marines his wife is in the Navy and she got orders to CA, so now he's trying to get orders out there. maybe your command will hook you up and get you close to where she willbe stationed.

You both file for joint domicile. Just like married Army couples. A friend of mine is in the Army and his wife is in the Air Force and they have only been stationed apart once.

well basically im an idiot because i didnt realize what i had until i lost it. we were having small problems and instead of talking and working them out, i walked away. i realized i screwed up bad, but now we are working it out. luckily our divorce paperwork never got signed by a judge, but while we were seperated she decided to join the air force to do something with herself. now she is getting ready to start her training.

hey, i'm not ashamed to admit i made a mistake. who knows, maybe my situation could help somebody. it is worse to have kids involved, and i do personally know about that too. its not easy to stay in a relationship and make marriages work in the military.

definatly have to look into joint domicile. thanks.

Turn in a DA4187 for "joint domicile", and a copy of your marriage certificate. I would turn one into your unit, and also send copies to your branch manager, and explain him/her your situation. Your branch manager will also need your spouses info (full name, SSN, MOS/AFSC, etc.) Tell your wife to contact her "functional" manager also with the same information. As long as they can, they will work to get you two together. I'm Army, and my wife is Air Force, and so far the only time we've been separated was for a couple TDY's here and there.
