Default 2jz S2000

Possibly the coolest honda ever. I want to see them put it in a NSX.

its a cool idea, but the S2000 was made to be a handler. that motor and turbo is probably messing up the weight bias of that car. something lighter would probably make me happier

it never mentions what it put down.. they'd have to spend alot more $ for the single turbo/fuel setup..

so lets see:

used s2k: 20k
2jz by these guys: 16k
big turbo/fuel setup: 10k (probably low est.)
not including the rear/tranny/clutch.

the whole swap including labor is 14k
and that car is probably making 350whp on just 10lbs
and after changing the rear end, it will probably be reliable for 30lbs-(about 700whp)

they weren't completely done with the car when that video was made, it should be a beast when they're done. i would much rather have that set up than the original....

that run was only on 9psi on the stock rear end, they're going to put a silvia rear-end in it also. so they weren't trying to tear anything up. not to mention it wasn't their car to beat on.

On supra forums they said for what you could sell the S2k engine for you could buy and mod a supra engine to make it pretty mean. I also dont think the 2JZ weighs a ton more then the F20C. I really want to see that 2JZ powered FD thats a heck of a cool swap. The car still weighs just a touch over 3k lbs so it should still handle well.

An LS1 is probably lighter and smaller.

DOHC's are huge compared to pushrod engines, and the 2JZ's are iron.

I dont think I would trust those guys with $14-16 k there shop looks like a garage on there house with no lift and I really couldn't see a lot of tools around to assist in swapping motors let alone the fabrication of parts that would be needed

Well that swap cost some serious $$ so i would rather go to a real shop. Unless of course it was like mine or one of my good friends garages, thats a different story.
