Typhoon Intake Manifold

Typhoon Intake Manifold
Can I run a Typhoon 85 or 96 with a ported ls1 throttle body until I upgrade the throttle body. I'm still quite new to the whole V8 world coming up from turbocharged imports. Just nice to have something different then the other kids in the are.

Pro products makes 2 96mm Intakes...one for the LS1 and one for the LS2...yes a ported stocker will work w/ the 85mm . Not sure about the LS1 96mm Intake, I think the only differance is it'll accept the LS1 fuel rail/injectors. It might or might not be a 4 bolt entrance, though I believe it is.

My 85mm came with rails (have to provide the fittings if
you don't like the loop-through scheme), a push-lock
fitting and an adaptor to put the stock TB onto it if
you wanted.

The 85 should come w/ rails but i told you there 2 different versions of the 96mm...one for LS1 and one for the LS2. LS1 fuel injectors will just fall into the LS2's intake, before the 85 I had a LS2 96mm and I unfortunately found it out 1/2 way through the swap when i tried to put the rails on.

my friend just bought this intake for his camaro, the 85mm. he used a stock throttle body as the intake came with an adapter place to better transition the different bores.
idk if I would do it, not sure if i like narrowing the air flow, but it can def be done.
don't know much about the 96, but my opinion would be to def get a bigger tb

Are there any issues with installing. I have read in alot of other posts that there are some issues. Anything you can think of that might help the install go a little more smoothly.

Install was pretty smooth. They use to have leak issues but I believe they have since been rectified. Just make sure you dont snap the fuel press. sending unit because unless you know someone from GM it might take a few days to get ahold of one and put a damper on the install. You might as well replace the o rings while your at it aswell.

I had zero trouble with mine, I obtained an updated gasket
set from Professional Products for the asking. If you get
green fiber gaskets then those are old stock; everything
current should have silicone-embossed ones that seal
better.

85 shoud have adaptor for stock tb. 96 you will need bigger tb, not sure if they make adaptor for using stock tb on 96mm intake. I am currently running a 96mm intake with NW TB, no mods required for installing...

Just installed my Typhoon 85mm intake manifold car starts up and rev's way up with a whine and then stalls out. Could this just be a massive air leak? Also installed with stock ls1 coolant lines Tech guy from PP said I could. Could the ls1 lines be holding me up and not making me seal right?
