Ram air baffles?
have a ws6 and was puttin in my new intake set up and i went ot look through my ram air hood to see if u could see the blue filters and i noticed u cant even see stright through so i was lookin around in it/on it and noticed it has 3 baffles blocking the "ram air" 1 big one and 2 seprate ones for each nostril, looks like if u pop the rivets off it u can take them out, any one done this or suggest doing it or not doing it? if so why? looks like if u poped them out ull noticed better/cooler air flow especially moving, but idk new to these cars so why im askin on here lol, thanks

There are some people that do it, but you just found why the RAMAIR on these cars is more myth than fact. You can drill out the rivets and take the baffles off which will help a little with the RAMAIR effect. But don't expect a big gain or anything unless the nostrils are sealed to the intake area. Many have done that too.
I can't speak from experience though, I haven't touched a thing on my WS6. Not planning on it either, but I'm pretty sure some else who has will post up how has.

ive did with my car almost a year ago.... i didnt notice any gains or any problems such as water getting on the filter from rain. but like said above if you wanna see gain you have to seal the hood to the intake. oh ya there also glues to the hood so you just cant "pop" the rivets. what i did was drill them out then used the wooden end of a hammer to tap them out and worked like a charm

Many people remove these without issues. I did on mine many years ago. I also bought a kit to seal the hood to the airbox for maximum cold air flow.

thanks guys, i went ahead and did it, used a small chisel and a hammer tapped/popped the rivet heads out and then just reached in and pulled them out, had to cut the long one but all came out nicely, just need some touch up paint to put on the spots and im good, and ya the water thing was the only thing i was wondering about, and i think with the kit i got it is as sealed as it can get but not sure, ether or ill see how it does at higher speeds to see if i notice more pull
this is the kit i was installing when i saw these baffles

it has the rubber seal thing u put on the rim of the box part that looks like it would seal it to the hood but idk

does anyone know if you can do this with a camaro ss hood?
i've never seen the inside of a ws6 hood till that picture posted ^ and obviously that ram air entering from the front would be much better than the ss ram air entering from the middle of the hood
even though ram air isn't all that effective in the first place
whatev i'm still looking for any little things that would help

now that the volant intake set up is done its a nice set up, as a kit though wasnt the best imo, could just be the one i got but i had to use a few of my own washers to space some bolts out cause they bottomed out before they got tight, it came with no instructions and it took me like an extra 20 mins wrestling with it all to figure out how it goes in place, the way the MAF sits in it took me a min, another thing i was cautious on is when u remove ur stock/other style airbox bottom part it helps support the radiator and all, when u put the volant one on it kinda holds it but not as well, ive had no problems with it so far but thats my exp with getting and installing it myself, all and all not bad once installed imo but
