I've always thought WD40 would do the trick... I'll be watching to see if there are better methods (which I'm sure there are haha)

PB BLASTER. and a torch. HEAT IS YOUR BEST FRIEND!!! heat evenly til it begins to glow........I use a little blow torch with MAPP Gas.
also the heat actually blows some of the rust off the bolts. Nuts that wouldnt budge even using my Matco mt1769 impact, which has 600lbft instantaneous torque and 1000 lbft after several seconds, come off like butter after THOROUGHLY heating.

PB blaster. When i did the headers on my 84 Z28 I went outside for about 2 weeks and sprayed them. Then when i went to do the headers, got every bolt out with none breaking and they came out fairly easily too.

Probably was a bit of overkill but i'd rather have done that then deal with a broken bolt.

Another vote for PB Blaster. Think of it like WD40 on steriods.

WD40 =/= penetrating oil. PB Blaster is good, kroil is better.

If it won't back out, turn it in until you feel it yield.
Then you've got the rust broken and have a good
chance of working it out, and you won't have rounded
off the important corners trying to break it loose.

Like already mentioned, PB Blaster and heat. But whats also just as important as those two things, is PATIENCE!

Deep Creep is good as well.

I've heard good things about Kroil too.

IIRC GM has their own brand of this sort of thing thats good. I don't remember the name though.

Yes, GM has their own product called ZEP. By far the best I have ever used if you give it enough time to work. It's very pricey though, I think around $30 a can....

I agree with everyone else, heat is by far the best way. And make sure you get MAP gas torch, not propane. MAP will heat it much faster.

PB Blaster, Seafoam Deep creep, Zep Penetrating oil all work great. If those don't help you need heat but everyones response covered all that lol
