Intend to by LT1 93?
I found LT1, m6, 93 Z8 convert to SS hood also wing and 97 taillights. The owner is old man 50-60 year. It has only 85k miles, body kit, short shift and B&B cat-back, leather and K&N filter but not T-top.
He give me good price, what I intend to do, is sale my car to my friend and by 93 and start moding on it with lift money. Any suggestion I will be happy.
Thx

How good of a price is he giving you? If you really want to sell your car to your friend just put some money with it and get a LS1 car. You will probably be much happier.

Although I love my LS1 to death, as it is way more refined and faster than my modded LT1. There is still something that I miss about my LT1 that no LS1 can replace. I can't explain it other than it driving it around. Maybe its just so brutal and unrefined pure torque, and the deep grumbling. I miss it still. Truthfully its up to you, but the 93 LT1's do require a bit more work to start getting up in the numbers modded. I truthfully wouldn't be in a hurry to get a LS1 though they will only get cheaper as time goes on. If the difference of selling your SS and buying the 93 give you some good mod money my vote is go with the 93 and mod the hell out of it.

93's are great cars and you should be able to get it cheap although I'd make sure it has the 160mph speedo with the M29 tranny and 3:23 gears. To give you an idea of how cheap they are I sold my 93 that ran 12.6 and was HELLA modded from Corbeau seats to firehawk hood, suspension etc, etc for 6000 EVEN. It was in Very Very good shape with 100k on it. I would think a z28 if it the m29 and in excellent shape I'd buy for 4-5K. I agree with 98FormulaWS6 there is something I miss about the LT1. 93's only real drawback is the tuning but there are tuners out there it wasn't that big of a deal just not the choices you have with MAF cars. My 93 ran a 14.01 at 101 Stock with a HORRIBLE 60ft.
But are you sure you can get enough out of the SS to make it worth it??

LIke 98 Formula said, the LT1s feel different - torquier at light throttle at low rpms. It feels great, esp. with an automatic. LT1s are closer in feel to an old musclecar; LS1s have a more hi-tech, hi-rev feel - esp. great with the manual trans. No question which is faster, stock to stock: LS1! I too miss my LT1 Formula - except for the optispark - and that 's reason enough to go LS1.
