Default how loud is gmmg on a stock ss

I think I'm ready to take the plunge...I've heard numerous sounds online...and one in person...except that one had heads...cam...LT headers and highflow cats...loud outside but very quiet inside...what can i expect with a stock ss? inside...outside...tone...etc

A friend of mine has one on his '02 35th. It sounds wonderful. The GMMG is by far my favorite catback. It's loud, but not so loud that it's annoying. From what I've heard, it doesn't drone at all.

I have a pretty much stock setup with the gmmg and its too quiet for my taste. The quality of its sound is very good however.

Good choice!!!! I first installed the GMMG on my stock 99 SS. It sounded very "nice". Smooth rumble but still not very loud. Then I went with Kooks LT's, High flow Cats and Y-pipe. The difference is amazing!!! I was told that the sound of this going down the track was so sweet it makes you want to cry. The GMMG is quite an investment at 700.00 plus but I believe well worth the $. Good luck to you.

Too quiet for me.

Check out www.ls1sounds.com and listen to the first 2 clips on there. It's my car - the first one is revving, the 2nd is me burning up my clutch

I dont know what you're definition of loundess is. After hearing open headers on an LS1 nothing is loud to me, lol. As far as a stock set up, its very tolerable but the loudness isnt the good part of the exhaust, the actual tone/sound is. Its pretty.

Too quiet for me also. If your gonna spend cash for a catback I'd want it to turn some heads. If your gonna keep the stock manifolds/cats I'd get the loudmouth with dual/dual tips. Half the price and it rocks.

Even at F-body get togethers with people who has headers, high flow cats, etc, etc...everyone looks when I drive in or start the car. It is just perfect for me. Not too loud except when you want it to be. VERY mild drone from 2000-2500 with the windows rolled up. No problem for an M6 car.

I don't really notice any. I think people are too whiney about noise - if they think that drowns, then try out a stroker with longtubes, ory, and a loudmouth.

Compared to the Loudmouth, it is a very mild drone. However, I cannot drive in the 2000-2500 rpm range with the windows up for a long time...it just kinda wears on my ears. However, with the windows down or under light throttle, no drone at all. If you have an A4, you may have issues, but the M6, it is perfect at high way speeds
