Lightbulb 400 Hp?

Is it possible to reach 400 hp w/ strictly bolt-ons? And if so which combination would do it?

not legitly. refering to RWHP at least. gotta clarify that

400 flywheel HP is very easy, a few key bolt ons and your there; lid, headers, catback should get you there.

400 rwhp? No. 400 fwhp? Possibly. Some guys in M6s get up around 350 rwhp with all the boltons. Some even a little bit more.

That basically puts you at about what a 405 fwhp Z06 makes at the wheels.

I'd say it MAY be possible, with EVERY bolt-on, you probably wont even get there. Tuning will be a huge factor.

I pulled 334/348 in my 02 TA with just a lid and cutout. I agree 350 maybe a little more.

seeing as how most 01-02 m6 cars dyno around 300-310 to the wheels stock....i dont see how u could add 100 hp with just bolt ons. u may be able to get 50-60 to the wheels....lid, tb, headers, duals, pulley, etc. i dynoed 350 with lid, headers and duals. i was very happy with that. im at 380 now with the tr224 cam, lid, headers, and hooker catback. with my tb and pulley on the way, i expect to be at or right under 400.

The average M6 01-02 definately dynos higher than 300-310rwhp. Bolt-ons only you could probably see ~360. 400 rwhp is out of the question for a bolt on LS1. Maybe on an LS2????

I'd say it's POSSIBLE to get 400 RWHP with bolt ons, but not too likley. You would have had to started out with a factory freak (at least 320 at the wheels probably) and get every last bolton, but it could be possible I suppose

Nobody has ever come anywhere near 400 rwhp with only bolt-ons. What logical thinking did you use to come to the conclusion that it is possible? Also, 320 rwhp would not be a "freak". 01-02, M6 cars dyno that frequently.

If your bolt on is nitrous or a supercharger, yes.

agreed. if it was possible it'd of been done already. there arent even any 380rwhp bolt on only cars, where is an extra 20 going to come from?

That's because a supercharger isn't a bolt-on

You can bolt on almost anything. Nitrous solenoids bolt on, heads bolt on......doens't make it a bolt-on. (obviously)

So, while we are on the topic, what is the highest bolt-on power level? It has to be faily high, considering people have gone 11.5's with bolt-ons. If you were to lock the converter or do that with an M6 what kind of power would you be looking at? I imagine it isn't much more than ~360 rwhp??

Ferocity: What don't you think anyone has tried?? I know that people have gotten everything that they could out of their car before they went into the motor. Nobody has shot for 400 rwhp bolt-ons only b/c at this point in time it cannot be done.
