New Birdy and Cammy
Just got word from a feeeeeeeeewwwww spokespeople up at the auto show and they are for sure bringing back the Camaro within the next couple years after they get the ball rolling with the GTO and the new Z06....
Also! just a couple days ago Pontiac held a meeting discussing matters of a new generation of firebirds and they ARE coming back with the Camaro-unsure of engine but probably will be pushing 500 horsepower or so
I was told by a few people at a few different places-and it was all confirmed by a few other displays
was not told a specific year but Pontiac and Cadillac (woman whos friend is a chairperson dealy thingy lol) confirmed that it will be brought back-
new GTO i was told for next year or the following will be equipped with 500 hp as well
i do not want to get bashed for this this is what ive been told by several people among all the groups there

A 500hp Camaro would be great. Corvette would have to be well past that number though before GM would allow it.
Also, I can't see GTO being 500hp next (model) year. That would be a 150hp boost in two years, and I don't see that happening. There might be a judge model with 450hp or less, but I don't see the base GTO moving much from 400hp anytime in the next couple years. IMO.

I have to go with everyone else. I'll believe it when I see it. The last rumor like this I heard was that you could expect to see the new camaro in 05. Now its changed to 07, next it is going to be changed to infiniti and beyond...

he meant that a "lesser" car would never be allowed to share the glory of the vette front runner, the Z06. and he is right. the vette has always been the "crown jewel" of the GM performance empire, and they will keep it by itself on its own pedistal.

The canadian plant outdated The plant was demolished! My understanding is that had GM continued to build the F-body there much longer , they would have been obligated to keep the St Therese plant open for quite a few more years per the contract with the CAW.The CAW and the Quebec government have since sued GM.
In some ways it is better that GM stopped building the F-body as abruptly as they did.At least they didn't have the chance to make the F-body generic looking like the GTO.

Doesnt GM have an unspoken agreement to have no car more powerfull than the Vette.....Kinda like when the Grand National was making about 300hp, but was rated at about 240hp and the Vette was 255hp.
