Good Deal on 2002 Z28?
Here's the details:
2002 Silver Z28, M6, 39000 miles, ttops, no power options, cloth interior, bone stock, 2 owner, clean carfax
listed at 16,500. I'm pretty sure I can talk them down to 15,500.
What do you think?
Also, do you think that manual's have a premium over auto's. Seems like I can find a bunch of auto's but no M6's at a good price. Maybe its just my area.

That is OK! I found mine which is a 02 Z28, M6, 10K, loaded, leather, and Ttops for $17,000. There are good deals on low mileage ones. You just have to keep your eyes open and jump on them when they become available. When I was shopping for mine the M6's were more desirable and priced higher in my area.

A stripper Z28 with low miles, LS6 intake and M6 is gonna be one fast car and a good platform to build on. I love the car and the price is good but I think you can get them down to 15K even if they want to move the car bad enough. Good deals are out there but if a stripper Z is what you wanted then it's gonna be hard to pass it up.
Good luck and hopefully we will soon see a LS1 in your sig!

Even though you may want a stripper, most "normal" people don't. It's the car nuts like us that want to do away with the "useless" extra weight that comes with power options.
When I bought my '99 M6 stripper, I used that to my advantage. It was a private seller, a 58-year old man (!) and I said, "look, I like the car, but your price is too high and I bet no one else will want it when they find out it has no options."
I let him stew on that for a few weeks and ended up getting the car $2500 cheaper than we had initially discussed.
BTW, to me a stripper is a hardtop too, but I'm a fanatic.

It is car season too. Not many will be available for long. And pricing will be non-negotiable, or higher with room to talk. Keep in mind mods too. If the car is modded, it is less desirable by majority. I know us on this page prefer them, but Joe Shmoe (or Jane Doe) that just wants to look good while cruising the boulevard does not want to take chances.

I don't consider a hardtop any more of a stripper than a t-top since it doesn't save weight.
I looked at a car 2 weeks ago that was a great bargain (2000 Z, M6, stripper, hardtop, 43k miles for 10,500). I was so happy about the deal I was getting, that I think the guy got second thoughts. The day I was going to pick up the car, he pulled out of the deal saying he decided not to sell it. I think he just got a better offer. oh well.
Either way, I'll be sure not to make the same mistake. Need to work on my poker face anyway

Couldn't. He lived two states away and I had to get a cashiers check(during our meeting I told him I'd give him a $200 non refundable deposit, he declined and said he'd hold it for me). By the time he was ready to meet again, I think he got wise to the whole thing(probably got a lot of calls from the autotrader ad that week of waiting).

Get that car! And get them down, and everybody get down!
....No I know I'm a loser
But go find another one and buy it, and go show that guy whats up who turned you down.

Looks a little high if you ask me. I have an 01 Z28, 50k miles, t tops with 6 speed, all options but leather. Im asking 14,000 for it, and my car is mint, clean carfax and all that jazz.
