All of those are great mods.. The stall will make for some badass times at the track but wont do anything just driving around and racing peeps from a roll. If you dont do much track time right now then i'd wait on that. Id go with some koos or Qtp's and the Ls6 intake. I think you can afford both, but you may have to put it on your self to save some money, i'm not sure. At least the headers though.

torque converter and headers at top of the list. if it was me, i would go with true duals. underdrive pulley and spend the rest on beer

the best bang would be torque converter and headers look into kooks for headers there one of the best as well as qtp. the converter can shave off 1/2 a second. look into a vigilante. something lower than 3200 would be fine for you. also check what gears you have if u have 3:73 great if not look into richmond . g.l. man

I think the best would be to buy the Pacesetter headers, torque converter and install, used cam from this forum w/ springs for that amount.

I would be interested in Kooks headers if their website ever worked, but since it never works right and you can't read anything on the headers or see prices or anything like that, I'm going with QTP.

I'd go with QTP headers and an LS6 intake. I'd tell you to go with headers and a cam, but $1700 will BARELY swing that, and then you'd have to pay to tune it/install it if you don't do it, yourself. Not within your reach at all.

A converter will help that more than anything. With $1,700 you could do exhaust or converter and get the best parts or you could go really cheap and cover both. Depending on what you want to do. I did exhaust and then converter. I would recommend you do converter, shift kit, cooler, gauge and subframe connectors. (and nittos) That will give the greatest boost in performance.

I'd go w/ stall and exhaust. Best bang for the buck.

Headers $850 (thats with catted ypipe)
converter $359 (Fuddle Racing)
cooler $60 (b&m 24,000 gvw)
shift kit $100 (transgo),
SFC's $120 or 130, dont remember (BMW boxed),
and drag radials <-- cant chime in on the price for these.. may be someone else can

but you can, although barely, squeeze everything else in

If you want a fuddle converter. That is really cheap, I don't know much about them so I will withhold judgement. They do seem to be popular as of late. Which headers?
The problem with that is that it's a very tight squeaze as listed and does not include labor or shipping on anything, a tranny temp gauge (must have), or any of the "little things". Drag radials (nittos) will run about $300.

Please tell me how you can do all of that for $1,700. I'm all ears.
Pacesetter LT's-$389
TCI 3500-$500
B&M cooler-$60
Transgo Shift Kit-$110
BMR SFC's-$150
Nitto Drag Radials-$300
Total=$1509
Let's include a TSP ORY with the headers-$130=$1639
im sure all of that shipped wouldn't clear $1700. But, i don't believe he asked for install or shipping.

that's true.....my point is for 1700, all this can be had. If everything else is an issue, just get the converter, cooler, shift kit, and subframes

The problems I have are:
1) What you listed, when adding temp gauge, goes over the limit before shipping or installation. (if applicable)
2) It assumes that said person will buy pacesetters and a TCI converter. Maybe they want the badass QTP's or Kooks? We have no idea. Maybe he wants a vigalante or Yank converter? I personally bought a TCI because of the price, but if I could have afforded it I'd have a Yank. This is why I originally said you could push for both if you got all the cheapest parts (and self installed), otherwise pick one or the other.

In conclusion: It's okay by me to tell/show people exactly how far they can go with their $$$, so long as you point out that it will be a little over, they would have to do the install, and that they couldn't do both projects if they wanted the 'better', more expensive brands.

Look, i understand what you are saying. O.K., if you include shipping and install it's not possible. However, i was just showing that 1700 would be enough for those items i listed(w/the exception of DR's i guess). I'm not trying to nit-pick, just telling him what he could buy. I listed pacesetter's and TCI b/c they are middle-of the road products so to speak. If he wanted Kooks then he wouldn't be able to do all of that.
