Default How do you clean your headers?

welli have a set of Flowtech ceramic coated headers . They been on the car for a few months now and seem to lost their shine. i dd mine threw sleet salt and everything so im sure it took its toll on them.They just look like a dull silver now and seems almost imposiable to get down their to polish by hand so whats your tips to clean them and what products do you use on your headers

Leave them be....Or get some stainless headers.

Some Mothers aluminum polish with some super fine steel wool would do good. You would need to remove them though to do a thorough job.

I would not remove mine just to polish them up and put them back on for something else to ruin the finish a month later.

I wouldn't bother with cleaning them IMO. It's not worth it when you can't even see them from the outside.

lol ya seems like abig job to just remove them then clean and next few weeks right back dirty again.i just figured id get some tips while i have the motor tore down to clean them up a bit .i just like a nice clean engine bay i cant stand for it to get dirty even if i cant see it

]just get some engine bright and hose them down

My SLPs are supposed to be Stainless, but they have some surface rust,I just let them be.

I would jsut generaly clean them with some Brake Parts Cleaner, then WD40

my ceramic coated headers are hazing real bad. basicaly lost the luster or shine they had new and i would like to try to bring some of it back

i need to clean mine on the cude, there off right now and there has been a slow coolant leak on the passenger side that drips on the header. so the header looks nasty. burnt coolant.(black and grean) i need to clean them for shows becuase the hood is open and they stick out. any other suggestions on how to get them clean?
(they are hooker ceramic coated)

i was wondering about this my self and yesterday i tried some mothers billet polish on my pacesetters and wow, it cleaned them up pretty good.

why clean them up, if you wanted clean then you should of gone with SS.

if i had to do it over again i would but i got in a rush and got ceramic figuring they would at leas keep some of the orginaly luster .but im working on cleanign them up now while im installing the cam and intake .goin to try some Wizards metal renew polish to see how that works
