Default Can a manual '02 WS6 with bolt ons only hit 400 RWHP??

Hey All,

Ok, I'm on another forum where this kid thinks he can go buy a manual 2002 WS6 and only add bolt ons and he will hit 400 RWHP. Is the a realistic possibility? He also adds that BONE stock all t/a's hit 320 RWHP. I need some LS1tech quotes that I can paste and copy to prove to this kid that it's not that easy!!

What do you guys think?

What is the actual documented BONE stock RWHP of a t/a?

I have alot done and even with my cam I've only hit 348 RWHPon a mustang dyno! All stock I was at around 280RWHP on the mustang dyno.

Thanks,

~~Jess

With all my mods I'm only pulling 425 at the wheels. I think with bolt ons you're lucky to hit 370ish. Bone stock ALL m6 LS1s are around 300 rwhp.

bone stock RWHP varies but most dyno at around 300rwhp, i dunno about that 400 number at the wheels on bolt-ons, i guess he would have to have everything under the sun bolted on

No....Im pretty sure on the fact that you would have to do some internal work to hit that number...Cam, etc...

No way, bolt on record is 380 RWHP and that is with lightweight EVERYTHING (as far as drivetrain). Average is about 350 RWHP. Although 320 RWHP stock isn't unheard of, its very rare.

All in all depends what you consider a bolt on. Fast 90/90, long tubes, true duals, free mods, pully, etc and I think you could get close.

very unlikely to hit 400rwhp with full bolt-ons.. but hey, everything is possible.

While you're at it, what is the likelyhood an M6 TA with stock headers and LS6 intake manifold can hit 346/360 with just other minor bolt-ons? Seems POSSIBLE, but not very common...

I hate how people take factory freaks and try to pass them off as a common thing...

that is a hard number to hit i know ppl that have a cam and long tube headers and are only putting 370ish to the wheels so i d k i would have to say no, but then again THERE MIGHT BE A CHANCE LIKE MAYBE A 0.000001% CHANCE BUT IN REALITY I SAY NO!!

Its not going to happen what so ever.

Only if somebody cheats and pulls dyno tricks, other then that the number 360rwhp is about close as any ls1 will get, more so an M6. A4's won't even come close to 350rwhp with bolt ons, and I'd like to see your dyno with cam only doing 397.6. Must be a huge *** cam.
A4's don't show the same results as M6 cars do, you won't get 20rwhp from headers in an A4 car, and tune will not get you 30rwhp either.
Even if it did net you all that your still only talking about 355rwhp, 45rwhp away.

Peace,
Craig.

A S/C is considered a power adder. Turbo and nitrous are power adders too.

Bolt ons are consisted of...

Full exhaust
headers
cutout(s)
H/X/Y-pipe
muffler(s)

Intake
high flow air filter
air lid/cai
ram air plate/scoop
throttle body
intake manifold

Engine
underdrive pulley
electric water pump
spark plugs/wires

Basically a bolt on is considered something you can simply bolt on and get minimal-moderate power out of, exsisting externally from the engine. I know S/C, turbos and nitrous exist externally...but they are power adders because of their mass output in power. Some people consider rear ends/gears to be bolt ons, as well as drag radials. I've also seen people consider torque convertors for automatics a bolt on.

But full bolt ons on a M6 LS1 will generally put down anywhere from 350-375 rwhp, depending on the tune. Tuning plays a big part in determining the outcome of rwhp numbers.

i could see it hitting 385-90ish w/ LT headers, true duals, Mamo ported FAST 90/90, lid, elec. water pump, pulley, and a great tune....but not 400

some realllly light wheels perhaps to get the dyno #s up....?

i believe mustang dyno's rate rwhp lower then regular dyno's like dyno jets and other brands... so you yourself might have more power then you think? someone correct me if im wrong...
