Default Pcm?

Can anyone go to a dealership and ask for a pcm flash? As long as I have a vin number and a new pcm?

Sure, as long as you have a car to stick it in.

Rarely do dealerships have a programming harness. They will very likely need a vehicle or they won't work on it.

Well its in a rx-7....so thats why I was wondering...I just thought maybe I could go to a dealership with a pcm and have them flash it because my car isnt reading the maf and a friend of mine told me that with a pcm flash would fix it.

maybe a tuning shop could help you on that? like they could put the PCM in one of their cars just to reflash and then stick their's back in the car

Some parts houses do pcm flashes. (the one we use does) A plus is that it doesn't need to be in a vehicle. you still need a vin

You would need a vehicle...the only programming at the dealer that can be done has to be through a DLC. We dont have any harnesses that plug into the PCM directly. Your best bet is to get ahold of a tuner that you can send your PCM to that can put a stock tune in it for you.
