I would put Magnaflow on it.....or to hold you over put a magnaflow muffler on it to make it a Magnamouth JMO I love the way mine sounds...tame enough for daily driving and screams when you get on it but overall sounds good. Another option is putting cats on it....that would tone it down and smooth out the sounds for the cost of a couple of hp.

Default Hookers!

When I put my LT's and ORY on I didn't like the sound of it either. I still had the stock exhaust on. I then put a Hooker exhaust on and I really like the sound now. check out www.LS1sounds.com to see what sounds you like/dislike.

I have got GMMG with MAC headers. It sounds pretty good. I had to put the cats back on because the guy I wanted to do it wouldn't touch it unless the cats were back on. I didn't want to do it, but he is the only one I trust touching my exhaust. Mine is pretty tame until you get on it!

Do any of you guys have problems with what sounds like the header on the driver's side slapping the floor pan when you get on it?

Very common. First see where it hits, if it hits that cross brace going to the tranny tunnel on the driver's side under your seat, just do the BFH mod. And we have a sponsor that sells y-pipe bump-mod mounts.

Peace,
Craig.

Here you go, I found it:

Thunder Racing

http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...&vid=3&pcid=54

LS1 Y-Pipe "Bump Stop" Hanger

It's a well known fact that all LS1 Camaros and Firebirds cars have a "banging" issue when a set of long tube headers are installed. This banging causes the knock sensor to activate, causing a timing retard, taking away much needed horsepower under hard acceleration (usually at a drag strip when traction is ideal). This Mufflex hanger uses a rubber bumpstop that will not allow the Y-pipe to hit the underbody of the car causing this situation. The lower clamp and support rods are made out of stainless steel (tig welded for strength) and the upper rod is zinc coated steel.
Peace,
Craig.

I personally like my GMMG with my headers... But everyone is different on how they like their car to sound. LS1sounds.com has a lot of different combinations, but it was hard to tell which one I liked the most from listening to it online.

Oh and magnaflow is a great sounding muffler. I have a few buddies that run them, and they sound good.
