Default Nitrous run at the track, Advise needed!

I went to LMP in Sealy, TX on 11/22/2008. Hoping to get a low 11 run, possibly a 10.999 (wishful thinking). It didn’t happen.

The Camaro: 2001 A4 with SLP lid, Flowmaster cat-back, ColdFusion nitrous. (Stock every where else…)

Wheels: 15X3.5 on the front and 15X10 in the rear with M/T ET Streets.

The last time I had the car out was in the summer and I was on true street tires. I ran a best 2.16 60’ft 11.78 @ 118mph on a 125 shot from 1st gear all the way down the track.
This time with some good tires I thought I would lower my 60’ft which would lower my ¼ mile ET and if I "up" the shot to a 200, it would get me a low 11 just maybe a high 10.999.

Well, nothing worked the way I thought… (125 shot set on a window switch, (3000-6000)

60’ft – 1.9890
330’ft- 5.2740
1/8et- 7.8847
1/8mph- 93.65
1000et- 10.1307
1000mph- N/A
1/4et- 12.0108
1/4mph- 120.39

I tried two footing the car; bring the rpm’s up to 1200 then flooring it… this gave me a worse 60’ft (2.1185)
I got the best 60’ft by going from idle to full throttle (1.9890)
I was running it in "drive" and it was shifting at about 6000-6100.

Any Advise????

What tire did you have?....ET streets have quite a few size options.

Also was the car spinning or hooking?

You need an aftermarket stall. The stock one can't get you what your looking for. With a bigger stall you'll be able to leave a lot harder and those tires should hold it getting you the results your looking for. Hope this helps!

tire size is 26X10.5 - 15
the car felt like it was hooking.

I guess I'll look into a 2600-3000 stall... Thanks

if the car is hooking its the stall speed and rpm drop between gear shifts thats are hurting you.

with the window switch set to 3000 RPM you aren't getting into the kit until the 60' mark or so

i have a tci comp th350 and 3k stall i'm wanting to sell with a full manual valve body and trans brake. it was just gone through and freshend up . i'm in ga if your intrested. yeah it is mainly because your running all stock stuff . the stock trans will slip a little they suck pretty good and the stall is'nt helping alot. there fine for a mostly stock car to play with. when you go to shooting the juice and beating on them. it's a matter of time before it has to be replaced.

Ya man dont go too loose though on the stall. Just something like a 3k or 3500 should work great and still be streetable.

You should get a better 60ft. than that with the stock stall. I got about the same 60's as you when I waited till 3000 to activate the nitrous. I turned it on at the hit of the throttle right out of the hole and it got a 1.79, stock stall, stock suspension. My mods are close to yours, see sig. I run in crappy air so in really good air it should knock 4 or 5 tenths off easy. I don't know if I would shoot 200 right out of the hole but 100-125 isn't bad. But the guys are right, you'd be way faster with a good stall, I'm saving up for a Yank SS3600.

I vote get the tires hot and spray the bitch out of the hole...on that small of a shot you should be fine....if not then a stall....I went from 2.0-2.1s hooking to 1.6s spinning....never sprayed on the stock verter ive seen a few locals do it and they were sub 2 second 60s but they were spraying off the line

You definately need an aftermarket stall, your 60ft. is killing your ET. I would go no lower than a 3200 stall. I would also invest is some headers to let that thing breathe on the spray.
