Default Nitrous + 4.10 gears

I currently have MTI stage 2 heads with a C2 cam, VIG3600 and 4.10 gears and a set of 26" slicks. Would it be possible to spray the car with a 100-150 shot? I would be adding a fuel pump, but I'm concerned about both the converter and the gears being too high. Any advice would be apreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

I am not sure about your converter bt dependind on your MPH you may run out of gear on the 26's.

I assume with the heads and cam you are probably red lining around 6800rpm or there abouts. 4.11's at 1:1 gear ratio with a 28" tire you can trap about 132mph at 6500rpm, and at 6750 about 137mph. If you plan on more than a 140mph trap speed you may want to consider a different gear ratio. Those MPH estimates are rough give or take 1 or 2 mph depending on the type of tire/slick you are using. If the tire has a lot of side wall centrifugal force will turn a 28" tire into a 29" tire.

118-119 is what i run on motor with 4.10's, then a 150 gives me 131 with a crappy 60 foot.

i run 410 gears on a 28 inch et drag...combo works well for me. If I could spin the motor any higher, I would....but I don't want to blow it up just yet.

Lets see...

Car runs 119mph on the motor. Spraying a 100 shot should net 10mph (give or take). So say the car goes 130mph on the spray. I should cross the traps right around 6800-6900. My rev limiter is set at 7000rpm. So technically i COULD pull it off without changing my tire size or gear ratio correct?

yea, you could do it, i wouldnt count on 10 from a 100 shot, i would say 8 for sure. i dont think i would want to twist the motor that hard. maybe look into a set of 27 hoosier qtp's, thats what i ran last year, and worked good!

theres alot of factors that will go into play on that.

Don't forget about converter slipage. Your A/4 will slip a bit so you will be running higher revs and less mph as compaired to these M6 cars. Get 27's and you will be fine. I am going 28's with my new 4.11's and to aid in traction...

I ran N20 (150 shot) with a Moser 12 bolt/4.10's, but I used M/T ET Drags, 28"x9.5".

These actually measure 27.1" and do not rub anything, they "grow" .5 inches according to MT.

The shift light for 5th was coming on just as I went throught the traps, set at 6800rpm.

Slipage shouldn't be a problem, I can manually lock the converter
