Default My car leaks oil after I spray!!!

Everytime I've run my nitrous after I get back my car leaks oil. It looks like it's coming from the back of my oil pan (please god don't let it be rear main seal). Any ideas?

how many miles, what size shot, and how long have you been spraying?

I knew a guy that sprayed oil whenever using the bottle.
Obviously your crankcase pressure is going up due to excessive blow-by or lack of ventilation or both.

Is your dip stick blowing out? It could be coming from there and just making it's way to the back.

Large blowby means positive crankcase pressurization,
it overwhelms the PCV system and then any gap blows
oil out instead of slurping it back in.

75k miles, 125 dry shot, just barely installed about two weeks ago and I've sprayed 8-10 times. It only leaks after I spray but it may be my dipstick good point.

try a wet and a dry compression test.

I would check the PCV valve too. Even if you are just poping the dipstick, you've got a problem. Not normal at all, especially with a small shot.

A dry compression test is just a regular compression test. For a wet test, follow the same procedure but use an eye dropper to squirt alittle oil in the cylinder. If the rings are worn the oil will seal them and you'll see a big discrepency in the dry to wet numbers.

It would probrably be easier just to do a leakdown test.

I used to drip oil from behind the block everytime I sprayed my 150 TNT shot. I just figured it was too much crank case pressure and ran it anyway. Never had a problem other than a oil spot in my driveway and some melted plugs, but the plugs were a whole other problem. I do have a 98 and it was the only year of that shitty PCV system, so I just never worried about it. I guess if its leaving a huge spot where your putting more oil in every week it would be a bigger problem than I had, and should be looked at.

if you have access to a tester and some air, the leakdown test will tell you EXACTLY where the problem is, especially if you have a mechanic's stethoscope to listen for escaping air anywhere.
